Hey, I’m Vincent and this is my site.
My interests are music, movies, literature, photography, design and web. I was born at springtime in 1985.
Some of my favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Lost Highway, Reservoir Dogs, Princess Mononoke, Oldboy, Akira, Ghost In The Shell, Scarface, Full Metal Jacket, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas and more. My favorite directors are Tim Burton, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino and Hayao Miyazaki. I also like the work of the Coen brothers and some of Robert Rodriguez movies. There’s of course alot of other directors I also like, but I think I’ve named the most important ones to me. I don’t mind a movie by Hitchcock either. I also got some favorite actors and actresses. Some of them would be Johnny Depp, Brad Pit, Nicole Kidman, Bruce Willis, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro (Pacino and De Niro did a great job with Heat), Kevin Spacey, Uma Thurman and Steve Buscemi. I’m not quite sure if it’s fair of me to make a list like that because there’s so many more actors that just comes into my mind, like Tim Roth and Val Kilmer and let’s not forget Michael Madsen (though he’s played in some really crappy movies). Well, I think that this all says something about my taste in movies and what I like. Oh man, I forgot to mention Sofia Coppola, the Virgin Suicides is a great motion picture and it’s incredibly well directed.
When it comes to music I listen to alot of different genres. I like rock, EBM, darkwave, industrial, punk, electronica, classical (Beethoven in particular), psy-trance, goth, new-wave, ska, classical rock and probably an infinite amount of other genres. I listen to everything from Beethoven to Marilyn Manson to Elvis Presley to Big Bang to Johnny Cash to Eminem to Zeromancer to Mötley Crüe to Pink Floyd to Nick Cave and so on.
My favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchet, Ingvar Ambjørnsen, Neil Gaiman, Edgar Poe and HP Lovecraft. I enjoy both novels, poetry and graphical novels. I enjoy books like Discworld, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hvite Niggere, Frelseren, The DaVinci Code and HP ovecrafts short novels. I must admit that I don’t read as much as I’d like to, but I know what a good book is when I read one.
I’ve also evolved a taste for photography which first led me to the purchase of a Fujifilm FinePix s5500 and then to the purchase of a Canon EOS20D with a couple of lenses. I love to work with my camera and try out new stuff. It’s come in handy quite a few times and the EOS20D fucking rocks.
I used to be pretty concerned with semantics and stuff. I’m not so concerned with that anymore. I’m going to let someone else fight that battle. “Why?” you might ask. Here’s the reason: fuck em! I’m making websites with good semantics and good clean code. This is a good way to make webpages. Actually it’s the only way to make webpages as far as I’m concerned. I can’t even remember what tables look like, well I do, but you take the point.. So anyway, if designers/coders around the world wants to do a poor job, just keep on doing a fuckin poor job. After all, I do very often get paid by your clients to clean up after your mess.
In addition to this I’m getting more concerned about usability and what people want. Or what I want people to want. Or what I think people might want or need. What is convenient? I mean, why make websites if people doesn’t want them? I don’t think my site is the best example on what people want, but it’s what I want so I really don’t care. This is my own little playground and thinkaloud box-thingy and I enjoy it. I guess it’s some sort of pornography or at the very least exhibitionism.
One last thing I’d like to say: Could you fuckers who actually buy shit from spam-mails stop doing so? You’re complicating my personal life by supporting worthless spammers worldwide.
