This is a gem. First half of the movie is an endless amount of rape and the second half of the movie is an endless amount of revenge. “I spit on Your Grave” is from 1978 and was originally titled “Day of the Woman”. The tagline is probably the most uncorrect tagline ever. “This woman has just cut, chopped, broken and burned five men beyond recognition… but no jury in America would ever convict her! I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE … an act of revenge” I’m gonna go and make some spoilers (so don’t come here and serialrape me if you’re going to watch this movie and you hate spoilers). First of all I’m quite 100% sure that it’s four and not five men she kills in this movie. Second; She didn’t just do it, she does it at the very end of the movie. The tagline makes it sound like she’s going to torture these guys and molest their bodies, but she doesn’t. Neither is there a jury involved. The only thing that’s right in this tagline is “an act of revenge”.
The movie is really about Jennifer, a writer from New York, who’s going to spend the summer in a cabin in peacefull environments so she can find the inspiration needed to write her first novell. Quite soon she finds herself in a middle of a nightmare with four guys taking turns at raping and beating her. They leave her to die, but oh no! she doesn’t. She survives, and she heals and she decides to kill everymotherfuckinglastoneofthem. She’s sneaky and hot and the guys are amazingly stupid and easily fooled. This movie is just as bad as every other movie in the exploitation genre, but that’s what makes them all so entertaining.
